(More customer reviews)I must admit, when I first heard of these immersion frothers, I was very skeptical.I had tried many frothers, cappuccino machines with built in frothers (work great first 2 times, then they always clog) and plunger frothers(can you say carpal tunnel syndrome??) etc.After much time AND much effort, there was very little reward, almost no froth and much frustration, not to mention cleanup.I tried the plunger types repeatedly to the point where I was sure I'd have blisters.Did Imention having to disassemble & clean all the frother parts after?:o)

So began my quest for an easy, effective way to obtain cappuccino style froth for my morning java. I searched java junkie message boards and decided to give the Aerolatte a try.I couldn't have been more amazed and pleased.
This little gadget runs on 2 AA batteries (included) and comes with a metal counter stand so it's easily accessible.I unboxed it and gave it a whirl, seemed sturdy and surprisingly fast. Now for the coffee test.Hmmm.So I brewed a pot (french press) of strong coffee and poured a little half & half in my mug and let 'er rip.All I can say is AWESOME!!I was totally shocked at how quick and easy the Aerolatte whipped it into froth.Seriously, comparable to the froth from Starbucks.I couldn't believe it.

The instructions recommend skim or low fat milk, which also frothed up just as thick and rich.Wow!!!!When you are finished, run the unit under under the faucet or in a cup of water to clean. Incredibly cool that you create the froth right in your coffee mug.Simple as that, no extra equipment to clean.
Be brave, experiment a little.I prefer heating my mug with sugar & half & half in the microwave for 30 seconds, froth for about 30 seconds & pour in coffee. VoilaCoffee house quality cappuccino and no pots or tubes to clean.Pretty spectacular!

Details:Gotta admit, the stand that arrived with mine is cool to look at, very high-tech, but poorly designed & a tad annoying as you need 2 hands to remove the frother or put it back in.Ok, but not ideal.Luckily, Aerolatte must have realized this, as they have since redesigned the stand & replaced with an even cooler (hopefully more functional) design.
The battery life is excellent (at least 4 weeks of daily use), however I would recommend investing in rechargeable batteries and charger, as the unit is much more efficient and faster with strong batteries.
My first Aerolatte burned out after a little over a year of heavy usage.I loved it so much I purchased another.The price is reasonable as my unit was packaged with the unit, stand and matching shaker for toppings (cinnamon, cocoa, etc)

Highly recommended.You will not be disappointed!Bravo Aerolatte

(More customer reviews)The first thing that caught my eyes was the design.It's sleek and affordable.I've used it almost every day for 1 month now, and it's preforming up to the standard.I use my own rechargeable batteries, which works like those expensive rechargeable frother.My advise, don't get those rechargeable one, they are very expensive.The down for this frother is that there is no instruction of how and where to put in the batteries.Well, you just have to pull out the top of it carefully and insert the batteries.It's that easy.

I find it more consistent if I froth cold milk first, then nuke it for about 10 seconds. This way the froth stays "solid" instead of melting away (at least that's the way I like it).

I take it to work and whenever I travel, too. I've been using my extra sets of reachargeable batteries, cos the batteries that came with it only lasted me probably less than a month (I've been using this frother 3x a day since January).

(More customer reviews)I have both the manual Bialetti Mukka Express and the electric Bialetti Mukka Express.I had no problems with the manual model even using soy milk.I happened to come across a new electric model at BBB marked down to $44 and couldn't pass it up.I have made cappuccino with the electric using coffee that I ground myself using the "finest" setting on the coffee mill.The cappuccino came out perfect every time whether using soy milk or regular milk.I decided to buy pre-ground Starbucks Expresso Roast instead of grinding the beans myself.I noticed immediately that their coffee is not ground as fine as what I normally do myself.Well, the cappuccino was awful.It did not foam at all and not all of the coffee came up from the bottom.I re-ground the Starbucks Expresso coffee through my coffee mill to the finest ground.Guess what!It works now!Make sure you use the finest grounds possible to get this machine to work properly! This probably holds true for the manual machine as well.

Nespresso E350 Romeo Single-Serve Automatic Espresso Machine, Polished Aluminum Review

We bought the Romeo first than returned it 6 months later due to too many electrical problems (even after Nespresso repair) and replaced it with the D290.
Romeo pros: Beautiful modern design
Great coffee
cons: Useless cup warmer
Useless self cleaning mode (very annoying)
Mediocre frothing device
Too many electronics that could (does) go wrong
Too expensive to justify all the electronic
Automatic capsul ejection

D290pros: Great coffee
Ease of use
Capsule is ejected automatically when user wants to
Less electronic that could go wrong
cons: Spout might be a little low for larger cups
Frothing device
A little noisier than the Romeo

Bottom line: If you can forgo the great looks of the Romeo get the D290.
Frother at both machines is not very good. Use a Bodum hand frother that works faster cleaner and creates great froth.
Coffee is great with both machines.

I'm a big hot chocolate fan, and would have to say the best cocoa experience of my life was in Spain.The hot chocolate was much creamier and richer than anything I've tried here in the US. Not having a lot of time to stand over the stove and whisk milk and chocolate together, the time was right for me to get an electric Hot Chocolate Maker.

The benefits of this machine are that it can make just enough for myself or, when there's a crowd it make up to 32 ozs. You set the dial/timer to adjust how long you'd like to heat the cocoa (less time for smaller amounts, more for larger) and bam it's done. I really like that I don't need to stand over and watch the machine until its ready.

You can use regular cocoa powder mix or chocolate shavings/chips with this machine - I highly recommend using the real deal. I've been using some Ghiradelli Drinking Chocolate which makes a more intense chocolate drink.

Overall the Bialetti Hot Chocolate Maker was easy to use, easy to clean and gave great results.

Nespresso 3192US Aeroccino Plus Review

(More customer reviews)I really love it! You fill cold milk into it, push the button and after about a minute you get warm and very stiff cappucino-milk foam.

The newer Aeroccino Plus is an improved version of the older Aeroccino (no plus). It works great and - honestly - there is no reason to buy the old Aeroccino anymore (i own both)!

The Plus is larger, the milk doesn't burn to the floor of the kettle anymore, it can now be submerged into water (but no dishwasher!) and it can also do cold milk foam which looks great and stiff (hold the switch for about 2 seconds - the light turns blue instead of red).

Finally cleaning is really easy and can be done with water, sometimes a little soap and with the hands - there is no burned milk anymore (as with the old version). They also improved the coating so nothing sticks anymore.

If you love cappucinos or cafe-lattes, get one!

You know you can spend alot trying to get a decent product and I have not been disappointed with the practically inexpensive Bialetti.The first attempt was successful and that told me this was for me....the bonus milk frother made more froth that an old steamer frother I used to have.There are a few tricks with the frother(1% milk by itself not so good but add some half and half to the milk and voile').The milk mixture needs to be heated enough to coat the back of a spoon, pump it quickly and serve.Regarding the espresso maker itself....just don't add any more water than to that line..and oh don't open the lid to look at it until it is done or you will get sputter onto your stove top.To know when the espresso is done just listen you will know when it is done....very quick and yummm.

(More customer reviews)My girlfriend decided to splurge on this product (and to try to save on her $5/day espresso habit).It's as beautiful as advertised, and simple to set up.Espressos and Lungos are mighty tasty.

Unfortunately the entire Latissima series is suffering from a flaw with the milk-foam system.The first day or two foam comes out, but not nearly as much or as nice as in the Nespresso store.Then after the third day the milk quantity goes down significantly and the spout begins to just sputter out milk.

My girlfriend and I went back to the Nespresso store twice to inquire what we were doing wrong; the store people unfortunately couldn't help us out.We also called the Nespresso-Club hotline, who was willing to send us a new machine.

It turns out that there are a lot of users out there experiencing the same flaw.Go to Youtube and type in Nespresso Latissima; many users have posted videos evidencing the same exact problem as what we were having with our machine.This problem has been there since the introduction of the machine in 2007.

We have decided to return the machine and purchase a lower-priced, but at least reliable machine.It is shameless on the part of Nespresso (and DeLonghi) to continue marketing this machine although there is a design flaw with the milk-housing unit.It also does not surprise me that the price has gone down almost 25%; Nespresso's trying to liquidate its inventory before more problems arise and it's sitting on this junk.Be forewarned, Nespresso's return policy is only 14 days from the date of purchase; I would therefore recommend purchasing from Bloomingdale's or Williams Sonoma, whose return policies are much more favorable to the consumer.

(More customer reviews)I was worried to buy this because there were no reviews on it yet.I used it today for the first time and I could not be more happy with it.It says not to fillmilk past the froth indicator line inside the pitcher, I know why now.It creates the most thick rich froth that you can imagine all the way to the top of the pitcher.After you pour the heated milk out (which by the way is heated to 150 degrees checked with thermometer)you will have to spoon out the froth because it is so thick. I gave it 5 stars because it does exactly what it describes it will do. The only thing negative that I could possibly say is that I do think that steamed milk and froth is sweeter in flavor than just heated milk and froth.I make caramel macchiatos at least twice a day for my wife and myself so we do a lot of frothing.This frother will make this super thick froth in around 2 min or so and then automatically shuts off - too cool. I wait till it shuts off and then hit the espresso button on our espresso machine and then pour the heated milk, add the espresso and top with that thick froth - decorate with the caramel and kick back.I thought at first this was going to be an expensive learning adventure but now I am very happy to have bought it.It also will make thick heated and frothed hot chocolate.

Any smaller (for example, the 12oz or 16oz) and it won't fit much milk and you'll have to be lucky and skillful to keep it in the pitcher; any bigger (32oz+) and it probably won't fit under your steam wand easily, and you'll have a very hard time steaming only smaller amounts of milk because of the distance from the top to bottom of the pitcher.

This size, on the other hand, is PERFECT - small enough that you can do a one cup latte/cappuccino, but big enough to do two or three. Plus, it's very well made stainless-steel that is very sturdy and will last a long time, no problems there.

So if you've got a home espresso machine, like the DeLonghi or Barilla or Saeco/Starbucks (mine!) then this is what you want.
