(More customer reviews)I have used coffee presses for years and this model is great because the carafe is all glass and plastic - no metal.I can put the carafe (minus lid, which does conatin metal) directly in the microwave. I heat the water on high power for 4 1/2 minutes, add coffee grounds, stir, wait a minute, then press. Fast, Simple, Space Saving. I take this on campouts and on vacations, too.
